TI India is the National Chapter of transparency International. It is a non-government , non-political and not-for-profit organization of Indian citizens joining together to promote transparent and ethical governance and to eradicate corruption, defined as misuse of public office or resources for personal profit. TII is a society registered in 1998 under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860, and also registered under FCRA.

TI India is having its own elected 15 member-Board of Management.  Among its members are Admiral (Retd), R.H. Tahiliani, Justice (Retd) Kamleswar Nath, Justice (Retd). M F Saldanha, Shri P S Bawa IPS (Retd), Shri B R Lall IPS (Retd), Prof Bimlendu Mohanty (Former Vice Chancellor of Utkal Agricultural University), Shri US Pandey (Former Addl. Dir. Gen of RDSO, Min. of Rlys.), Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) V B Batra, and Shri S D Sharma, Gandhian Freedom Fighter.
