The TII TN Chapter, would like to announce that their Anti-corruption Helpline Launch was inaugurated by one of India’s leading Social Activists, Swami Agnivesh on
29th Aug 2007 at a well attended gathering of people from all walks of life at the Stella Maris college. The Helpline is operational from 1 September 2007. The Tel Nos. are : 64581444 and 42858557.
The Helpline is a free service to the common man. It’s purpose is to assist people to get their legitimate work done in State and Central offices in the city and who may be facing difficulties due to demand or perceived demand for bribes.The Helpline will operate through full time staff and volunteers. When a call is received, it will first be checked for genuineness and then reduced to writing. It will be then taken up directly with the concerned official. If necessary, it will be taken up with higher officials. And finally, if necessary, the RTI Act will be used. Complainants may contact the Helpline by Telephone, e-mail, letter or in person.
